Chemical Engineers: Creating a Culture of Diversity

The October 2016 issue of CEP, the professional magizine for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, features an article co-authored by Lehigh's Vincent Grassi along with Zenaida Otero Gephardt (Rowan University),  Alon McCormick (University of Minnesota), Otis Shelton (formerly of Praxair, retired). They discuss the historic and current patterns of participation in the discipline, and strategies-several learned from safety culture- to encourage more people to be engaged in moving the discipline forward. From the article: "An inclusive workplace with a diverse workforce ensures that the best talent is at the table and that everyone’s ideas can be heard.
