Research suggests women may be drawn more to collaborative and interdisciplinary research. Lehigh ADVANCE will shed light on to what extent and how interdisciplinary work is gendered, not only in terms of participation but in terms of outcomes.
Lehigh ADVANCE invites you to a discussion of three types of campus resources which faculty can use to enhance their visibility and demonstrate leadership in their work. On March 19, from 12:00-1:30 in Rauch 291-293, we will have a roundtable discussion about leveraging resources from Mohamed El-Aassar, Vice President for International Affairs, Fred McGrail, Vice President for Communications and Public Affairs, and Alan Snyder, Vice President and Associate Provost for Research. We will touch on what is known about the gendering of access and outcomes from these types of resources nationally by ADVANCE with Jennifer Swann, Biological Sciences, and review and recommend steps to ensure transparent and equitable access at Lehigh. Everyone will leave with knowledge about how best these resources support faculty in the work they do and demonstrate that work's value within and outside of the Lehigh Community. RSVP with this link: http://www.doodle.com/dc5942pwkkdirref by noon on March 15 as space is limited. Lunch will be provided.
