The ADVANCE Center sent to President Simon, Provost Urban, Vice President Outing and Senate Chair Iovine a message affirming Black Lives Matter. We wrote with recommended concrete strategies to uphold anti-racist efforts at Lehigh, which ADVANCE can directly support. The recommendations amplify what Lehigh's Black students, faculty, staff, alumni, as well as national Black in STEM movements have already articulated over these past few months through their own letters and town halls. ADVANCE is part of the infrastructure which can accelerate change and build capacity at Lehigh while holding the institution accountable for these goals. We look forward to ongoing collaborative partnerships to strengthen faculty climate and culture and policies for true inclusion and justice where all faculty can thrive.
