Lehigh's CIMER trained facilitators offer programs for colleagues to enhance research mentorship skills.
The multi-week (typically 10-12 h) highly interactive and case study based workshop series will be offered each semester for different audiences. Attend the the complete series and receive a certificate. Specific event dates can be found in the ADVANCE Events section.
- Fall: Faculty and Postdoctoral Scholars who are research mentors
- Spring: Postdoctoral Scholars and Graduate Students who are often both mentors or mentees. Special focus on "mentoring up."
- Session topics may include the following:
- Maintaining Effective Communication
- Aligning Expectations
- Addressing Issues of Diversity & Ethics
- Assessing Understanding
- Fostering Independence
- Promoting Professional Development
- Supporting Work-Life Integration

Research suggests women may be drawn more to collaborative and interdisciplinary research. Lehigh ADVANCE will shed light on to what extent and how interdisciplinary work is gendered, not only in terms of participation but in terms of outcomes.
