Lehigh Joins GEM Consortium

GEM Consortium

Lehigh University has become an institutional member of the GEM Consortium, a nonprofit group with a long record of success recruiting highly qualified underrepresented students who wish to pursue doctoral degrees in STEM fields (http://www.gemfellowship.org/).

We are proud to collaborate with GEM, whose 43 years of experience, network of 4000 doctoral alumni, and powerful mentoring and cohort building strategies align with Lehigh University’s goal not only to recruit underrepresented doctoral students, but also to retain them and to support their career objectives.

GEM scholars are the best of the best. Our membership in the consortium gives us access to a database including approximately 1000 students prepared to earn their doctorates in every STEM doctoral field in which Lehigh offers programs.

Henry Odi, Deputy Vice President for Equity and Community and Associate Provost for Academic Diversity, and Beth Dolan, Deputy Provost for Graduate Education, will follow up with specific information about accessing the GEM database in order to recruit these fine students.
